Warkworth Mine Extension

Coal & Allied has considered options for offsetting both the existing Hunter Valley Operations South Coal Project and the Proposed Warkworth extension using an integrated approach.

Coal & Allied is applying for a modification to its current development consent for the Hunter Valley Operations South Coal Project. The proposed modification would allow the Archerfield property to be used as part of the Northern Biodiversity Offset Area described in the Proposed Warkworth extension, with an alternative site within the Goulburn River Biodiversity Area to provide offsets for the Hunter Valley Operations South Coal Project.

The following documents are the application and Environmental Assessment for the Hunter Valley Operations South modification, which will be assessed under the provisions of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act). These documents are available for public exhibition from Tuesday 25 May to Tuesday 15 June 2010, during which time public comment can be submitted to the NSW Department of Planning via the department's website http://www.planning.nsw.gov.au/. Coal & Allied will be required to consider submissions and respond to the Department.
