Hunter Valley Operations

Through Coal & Allied's community relations programme and the Coal & Allied Community Trust, the mine is working to help provide positive long term outcomes for the region.

Hunter Valley Operations is engaged in regular consultation and ongoing communication with our stakeholders. Feedback from our neighbours and local communities is used to inform future decision-making by Coal & Allied. Our community relations programme is focused on building lasting relationships based on mutual respect, active partnership and long term committment.

Recent examples of our consultation and involvement in the community include:

  • Hunter Valley Operations Community Consultative Committee meetings
  • Coal & Allied Community Trust projects and partnerships
  • Indigenous land access agreements and Coal & Allied's Aboriginal Development Consultative Committee
  • Feedback through Coal & Allied's Sustainable Development report

The Hunter Valley Operations Community Consultative Committee meets regularly to provide a forum for open discussion between the community, the council and Coal & Allied representatives. The committee discusses issues directly relating to the mining operation and environmental performance, keeping the community informed on these matters and potential impacts.
