By establishing common systems, solving common issues and sharing knowledge and experience across all Coal & Allied sites, RTCA and the wider Rio Tinto Group, the business is able to improve efficiency and create additional value.

Our results

In 2006, Coal & Allied delivered more than $93 million in value improvements, established a Business Improvement Division and set up a uniform approach to business improvement across our operations.
