Relationships
Coal & Allied aims to develop long term, mutually beneficial robust relationships with all communities of interest.
Communities
Each of our operations is part of a local community, including both Indigenous and non Indigenous populations, with which we aim to develop a robust relationship and make a long term sustainable contribution. This community includes our near neighbours - those people who live close to our operations.
Our approach to community relations.
Customers
The majority of our customers are in Asia. We work with them to assist in the optimisation of their businesses and meet their environmental obligations.
Employees
Coal & Allied has approximately 1,400 people working for the company. We have an internal programme of communications targeted at employees and we encourage employee participation in the community.
Government
We aim to build relationships at all levels of government to ensure our vision and plans are aligned with governments and to find solutions to strategic challenges. We also interact with governments in their capacity as consent authorities for our activities.
Investors
Coal & Allied is a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange. Rio Tinto is the major shareholder of Coal & Allied owning 75 per cent of the issued shares.
Media
We aim to keep the media up to date with recent announcements, developments and activities. A web based media centre contains media releases, reports and publications.

Partners
We believe community development activities are often more successful when two or more organisations - each bringing different resources and skills - work together. Therefore, we seek suitable partners to work with.

Suppliers
Coal & Allied sources a diverse range of goods, materials and services to sustain our operations and procurement can make an important contribution to local economic development. Rio Tinto Procurement coordinates these activities for Coal & Allied.
