- Continued delivery of leadership programmes across all sites
- Deliver a common Coal & Allied training system to improve employee skills development

Community relations
- Audit against the Rio Tinto Communities standard, incorporating community input, carried out at each operation before the end of 2009
- Document and report amount of funding leveraged through community development funds
- Use results of Hunter Valley socio economic baseline to update community relations plans at each site
- Document and report number of employees participating in Coal & Allied funded community development activities.
- Establish 3yr Aboriginal cultural heritage assessment buffer at all operating mines
Environment
- Coal & Allied freshwater use 43 litres per tonne of product coal
- Coal & Allied land rehabilitation 160 hectares
- Coal & Allied land disturbance 158 hectares
- Achieve zero category III and IV environmental incidents at Coal & Allied operations
- Review and update the Hunter Valley Operations mine life plan in accordance with the Rio Tinto Standard
- Coal & Allied total energy use 0.013 GJ per tonne of equivalent material moved
- Coal & Allied greenhouse gas emissions 1.40 kg CO2 per tonne of equivalent material moved.
Health and safety
- Zero injuries and illnesses.
