Biodiversity

Biodiversity and its management are of strategic importance to Coal & Allied. The Hunter valley region in which we work is recognised and valued locally and regionally for its biodiversity resources. Additionally, the Traditional Owners have long understood the interconnectedness of the environment and place great value on livelihood, spiritual and customary resources.

Our approach

In 2008 Coal & Allied will develop Regional Biodiversity Action Plans specific to the regions in which we operate. The Action Plans will assist Coal & Allied operations to establish tasks that focus on biodiversity identification, protection and enhancement within and surrounding our operations.
