Injuries
Lost time injuries (LTI) include lost day injuries (injuries that result in one or more days away from work) and restricted work day injuries (injuries where an employee cannot perform all or any part of the normal shift).
The lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) is the number of LTIs per 200,000 hours worked.
The all injury frequency rate (AIFR) is the number of injuries and medical treatment cases per 200,000 hours worked, including minor muscle strains and sprains.
In 2007 our target for Coal & Allied sites was to achieve a LTIFR of 0.20 and an AIFR of 0.64. Coal & Allied recorded a LTIFR of 0.44 and an AIFR of 0.81, unfortunately not meeting the target in either area.
